Terms & Conditions

  1. I.Star Events Sdn Bhd subsidiary of Star Media Group Berhad and partner (“Organiser”) reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Contest at any time without prior notice to the Star Supa Comic participants (“Participants”), in which case the Organiser will make reasonable effort to inform the Participants prior to the date of the Contest. If the Contest has to be cancelled or postponed, the Organiser shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience caused.
  2. Participants below the age of 18 are required to obtain parental/guardian’s consent and complete the relevant authorisation and indemnity declaration form as deemed necessary by the Organiser upon registration, failing which, the Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any applicant under the age of 18.
  3. The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these Terms and Conditions from time to time as it deems fit. If there is ambiguity in any of the provisions, the Organiser shall be the authority to interpret and in doing so, the Organiser will take into account the interests of all the affected Participants. Any updates on the Terms and Conditions will be notified on the official Event’s website (https://sites.thestar.com.my/supacomic/), and it is the responsibility of all Participants to keep abreast with any changes.
  4. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  5. The organizer has the right to make any changes on the terms and conditions without prior notice.
  6. The age range of the competition is open from 13 to 18 years old.
  7. Must reflect “Create your own Superhero ” drawing theme. Draw or build your superhero for us (be creative and original).
  8. The Drawing Competition is open to children aged between 13 – 18 years old.
    *Colouring Fun participants will not be given a Certificate of Participation.
  9. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  10. Only one (1) entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
  11. The competition is open for registration until 29th December 2018, the organizer must receive your entry to the Competition by 10.30am.
  12. Upon registration via online, a confirmation email will be sent automatically to the registrant. This confirmation email serves as proof of registration and specifies all event details included in the registration.
  13. Participants have to register at the reception where the competition took place from 10.00am onwards on the event day. A copy of the participant’s ID (e.g. BC/student pass) and confirmation email must be presented at the reception.
  14. Participants have to stay in designated area to work on their drawings.
  15. Participants need to complete their drawing in 75 minutes time, and to leave the drawing area when the time is up. All entries must be the original work of the participant, completed on-the-spot on 29 Dec 2018 (must purchase the event entrance fees to participate).
  16. A parent or guardian must accompany the participant at all times.
  17. No responsibility can be accepted for entries if the confirmation email does not receive for whatever reason.
  18. Cancellation of registration must be submitted via email and is valid only with acknowledgement. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
  19. The drawing must be drawn on-the-spot in Mid Valley Exhibition Centre.
  20. Participants must use the paper provided by the organizers with Supa Comic and Claz'room College Chop behind it.
  21. Participants have to bring their own drawing and colouring materials but additional materials will be provided as well by the Organiser.
  22. A3-size drawing paper with a special Supa Comic & Claz'room stamp will be provided on the day of the competition.
  23. No side by side reference is allowed. Each participant may submit only one drawing. (Strictly NO digital printing is allowed).
  24. Entries will be judged based on the participants’ originality, completion and execution.
  25. Any false representation, erroneous information, violation of these rules and regulations or the general objectives of the competition (such as helping the participant develop or colour the artwork during the competition) will result in the immediate disqualification of the participant.
  26. The organizer accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by You as a result of entering the Competition or accepting the prize. The organizer further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to You or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Competition.
  27. The organizer reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud).The decision of the organizers on the winners will be final and binding. No correspondence in any matter shall be entertained.
  28. The prizes are as stated and no other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  29. Organizer collects, processes, and uses, in accordance with data protection laws, such data of the participant as are required to fulfil contractual obligations and with a view to advising and informing the participant concerning future events and offers from the organizer. In connection therewith the organizer is entitled to further notice to contact the participant in writing or by phone.
  30. The organizer will have the rights to publish the winner’s artworks. All entries will belong to the participants and can be collected by the organizers instructions.

  1. Those who wish to withdraw, kindly do so at least 7 days before the event with valid write in reason. Failing to do so, you will be disqualified from all future contest organized under or in collaboration with Star Supa Comic Cosplay Contest.
  2. Any item or activity that presents a risk to the possibility of damage to entrants, their costumes, the audience, or the facility/venue is strictly prohibited. Carrying or displaying weapons or weapon replicas of any sort is prohibited by Star Supa Comic Cosplay Contest. All toy guns that have been inspected must be marked on the tip in orange colour and are allowed during the Star Supa Comic Cosplay Contest. Prohibited items worn into the convention areas will be confiscated. Functional firearms are not permitted at any time in the event or the Star Supa Comic Cosplay Contest. Fire, liquids, glitter, smoke machine, hazardous chemicals and other fine particles are not permitted.
  3. Judgement and good taste must be used in creation and presentation of costumes and talent. Contestants are required to only prepare 3 relevant poses for their character. Gore, graphic violence, nudity, swearing, or other objectionable elements may be grounds for disqualification as determined by the Star Supa Comic Cosplay Contest.
  4. Re-interpretation / OC (original characters) are disallowed. A reference picture is required. All characters must be from mainstream / widely popular books, gaming and anime fandoms / genre (comics, literary, TV series, or cinematic versions).
  5. Any participant may be disqualified from the contest by Star Supa Comic Cosplay Contest judges for failure to observe or in violation of any of these rules. All decisions made by the judges are final. All prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the contest.
  6. Audio are allowed, but not a requirement. All Audio must be submitted to Star Supa Comic Cosplay Contest committee at least 3 days before the event. Audio submitted during event date will not be accepted.
  7. All contestants MUST check-in with Star Supa Comic Cosplay Contest appointed competition committee at least 2 hours before competition time. No entries will be accepted after competition check-in has concluded. Contestants who do not appear at check-in will be dropped from the contest.
  8. All contestants must be at backstage 1 hour before the competition for the prejudging process.
  9. Changing rooms will be provided but all contestants are responsible for their own belongings. Each contestant may bring 1 assistant to help them with their belongings. Star Supa Comic Cosplay Contest will not be responsible for any loss or damages of items belonging to any contestants / assistants.
  10. A confirmation email will be sent once your entry has been accepted and processed. If you wish to check on the status of your registration, please allow seven (7) working days after your entry has been submitted.
  11. Any prize money / prize not claimed during prize giving will be forfeited.
  12. Your personal information will be stored by Star Supa Comic only and will not be shared with any outside party other than for Star Supa Comic event and promotional purposes.
  13. Judges’ decision is final, there should not be a contesting of results and organizer has the rights to change the prize of a similar value.

Note: The Star Supa Comic Cosplay Contest does not include the entry into the event. Tickets sold separately

If the Event has to be cancelled or postponed, there shall be no refunds of registration fee of RM25 (1 Day Pass), RM45 (2 Days Pass) & RM80 (Limited Edition Package) which is payable through the online payment gateway, unless the Organiser deems fit to give a refund and the Organiser shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience caused.
  2. Participants below the age of 18 are required to obtain parental/guardian’s consent and complete the relevant authorisation and indemnity declaration form as deemed necessary by the Organiser upon registration, failing which, the Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any applicant under the age of 18.
  3. The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these Terms and Conditions from time to time as it deems fit.   4. Completion of the official online registration, confirms the Participant’s agreement to abide by all the Terms and Conditions for the Event.
  5. Registration for the event is only confirmed upon payment made and upon issuance of a collection slip via email.
  6. The Participant shall complete the Online Registration and submit it together with payment of the Registration Fee of RM25 (1 Day Pass), RM45 (2 Days Pass) & RM80 (Limited Edition Package).
  7. Event Organiser and partner will not be held liable for any additional interest or fees charged by The Participants bank or credit card during registration.
  8. The Organiser and partner reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of Participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Event, for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising and distribution to sponsors anywhere in the world without any notification and/or payment to the Participants.
  9. All intellectual property rights in all materials produced or distributed by the Organizer in connection with the Event are expressly reserved and any unauthorized duplication, publication and/or distribution are strictly prohibited.
  10. In view of the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, by registering for the Event, you hereby expressly grant the Organizer and its affiliates, partners and/or advertisers the permission to use and process your personal data including (but not limited to) name, contact information and/or photographs (collectively, “Personal Data”) for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation, notification or permission. By registering for the Event, you hereby allow and consent to the collection and process of the Personal Data by the Organizer and its affiliates, partners and/or advertisers. You also agree to receive the latest information about products, news and events updates, rewards and promotions, special privileges and initiatives from the Organizer and its affiliates, partners and /or advertisers.

    You may from time to time contact +603-7967 1388 ext 1505, 1541 or 1097 to:
    (i) obtain a copy of your Personal Data held by the Organizer;
    (ii) correct or amend any incorrect Personal Data held by the Organiser; or
    (iii) withdraw your consent to the use/process of your Personal Data by the Organiser, its affiliates, partners and/or advertisers.

  11. You shall assume full liability and responsibility in case of any liability, mishap, injury, loss, damage, claim or accident (including death) resulting from your participation in the Event. The Organiser shall not be held responsible for any liability, mishap, loss, damage, claim or accident (including death) in any manner whatsoever suffered by you as a result of the Event.
