1. How do I read The Star ePaper?

For PC users, simply visit and log in with your account.

For mobile device users on iOS or Android, just launch the The Star ePaper app and start reading. For first time users, download The Star ePaper app for free at Apple App Store or Google Play, then authorise the app with your account.

2. Do I need internet connection to read The Star ePaper?

If you are reading The Star ePaper online using a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.) on your PC, you will need to have internet connection. You can also choose to download The Star ePaper to your mobile devices for offline reading. Your device needs to be connected to the internet for downloading. Once the issue has been downloaded completely, your device does not need to be connected to the internet anymore.

3. How long does it take to download The Star ePaper?

The downloading time will depend on your broadband connection speed. As a guide, on high speed broadband with 5Mbps, it takes less than 5 minutes.

4. What should I do if the downloading of the ePaper is terminated or incomplete and will not

The downloading of the ePaper is dependent on your internet connection. If your download is incomplete or terminated, you can tap on the same issue of the newspaper to resume download. If the download doesn't resume automatically, please delete the issue and re-download.

5. How many different devices can I use to read The Star ePaper with my account?

You can read The Star ePaper from two different mobile devices. In addition to that, you can also read The Star ePaper online using your PC. You just need to register once from either your PC or mobile devices for access across multiple platforms.

6. If I have upgraded to a new device, e.g. smartphone and tablet, how do I ensure I can read
The Star ePaper from the new device?

You can authorise up to two devices for offline reading at any time. First, de-authorise your old device and then authorise your new device. To de-authorise your old device, please log in to your account and select the device to de-authorise at My Account>Press Reader.

7. What if I forget my password?

You can reset your password at using a PC. Email instructions will be sent to your registered e-mail address to reset your password once you submit the required information.

8. Can I change my password?

Yes. Please log in to your account at from a PC, then navigate to the My Services menu and click on My Account to change your password.

9. Can I change the email address?

Yes. Please log in to your account at and go to My Account>General to change your email address.

10. Can I log in simultaneously?

Not if you are using the same account username and password.

11. Why am I getting 'Your subscription is expired or not valid anymore' message on my
smartphone or tablet?

Please check and ensure that you have activated your account from the confirmation e-mail.

12. I did not receive any email after subscribing for Newspaper Alert / reseting my password.
What I can do?

The email might have gone into your spam or junk email folder. Please check your spam or junk email folder. Alternatively, to prevent the email from going into your spam or junk email folder, you can set up a "whitelist". A whitelist is a list of email addresses that you can set up so that you continue receiving emails from people you want to receive email from.
