Petronas is main sponsor for carnival

PETALING JAYA: Petronas will be joining the ride in the inaugural Star Motor Carnival 2012 as the main sponsor for the event to be held at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.
The carnival will be held from Sept 14 to Sept 17 from 11am to 10pm.
A ceremony to mark Petronas' participation was held today at the Petronas service station along the Sprint Highway.

At the carnival, Petronas Dagangan will showcase its "Fluid Technology Solutions" which it said have inspired the design, development and delivery of high performing fuels, lubricants and functional fluids to meet stringent international demands.

Given Petronas’ years of strong alliance with various global partners including Formula 1, Petronas Dagangan will share the vast advantages of its spectrum of products such as the Petronas PRIMAX 95 XTRA, Syntium, and newly launched car care products Durance and Arexons.

It would also promote the benefits of its card products such as Mesra Card and Smart Pay.

The Star Motor Carnival is jointly organised by The Star and Cityneon Malaysia.

Admission is free.

Visitors can look forward to bargains on all things auto, from vehicles and auto-related accessories, special loan packages as well as win great prizes.

Besides a diversity of cars to choose from and a large open test-drive area, visitors can also look forward to an enjoyable outing with friends and family as there will be a series of activities such as inflatable games, celebrity appearances, charity classic car rides and display.

There will be performances by magicians, clowns, jugglers and fire-eaters.

They can also expect a shopping bazaar as well as a food and beverage outlet to be set up.

Cityneon Malaysia deputy events director Charles Yong said that there would be about 150 companies exhibiting at the event.

“Apart from vehicle exhibitions, there will also be supercar or superbike rides, face-painting, treasure hunts, go-kart and bumper boat rides, a ‘Pimp My Car’ booth, F1 Simulators, a ‘Fun Land’ for kids, goodies for early-birds and a lucky draw."

Police and Road Transport Department booths will be set up so that the public can check for summonses and obtain free car inspection by manufacturers.

The carnival will also offer test-drive opportunities for those interested in buying a vehicle.

So far, the brands and companies that have confirmed participation are Mazda, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Garmin, Elite Looks (M) Sdn Bhd, JSKY Season Service, D&D Performance Sdn Bhd, MG Dynamic, PZ Lubricant, Cardeas Sdn Bhd, YTL Yes 4G, Proton, Perodua, Daihatsu and Terminal One Motorsports.

The Star’s chief events officer, Iris Tan, said all companies running and offering businesses and services related to motoring – from new and pre-owned cars to automobile accessories (tinting, rims, tyres, lighting and interior), car electronics (GPS, music systems, air purifiers and security alarms), gadgets and after-market enhancements, and services (insurance and financing) – should not miss an opportunity to be part of this exciting event.

The Star Motor Carnival 2012 is also collaborating with ASN Marketing Sdn Bhd for the Auto Salon Night 2012 (ASN) – an activity that provides a rave party atmosphere during the four-day carnival.

The main objective of the Auto Salon Night 2012 is for car enthusiasts to get together for an outdoor party and have a good time.

The party, the second one, is expected to be bigger and better, with more competitions and programmes such as audio competition to find the best sounding car, drift demo by professionals, gymkhana challenge, a professional DJ rocking the show, Best of the Best Car, lucky draws and photography contests.
