Add some kick to your daily routine with these simple tips!

Eat Breakfast

Making time for a hearty morning meal boosts your metabolism and gives you energy to burn. Choose carbohydrate-rich foods such as cereals or wholegrain bread - your body relies on glucose for fuel.

Drink Up

Get yourself a 1.25 liter jug and work yourself through it over the course of the day. Dehydration leads the mind to function less efficiently.

Sleep Well

The average amount an adult needs is 8 hours. Make the necessary changes required to get enough shut-eye.

Eat Regularly

Don't skip meals. Going without food for too long allows your blood sugar levels to drop, causing major energy slumps.

Get Iron

For women in particular, make sure you're getting sufficient iron in your diet i.e. from red meat and green leafy vegetables.

Limit Your Caffeine

One or two cups of coffee can assist your mental alertness. When you start to reach 6 or more, however, anxiety and irritability can kick in.

Quit Nicotine

Nicotine robs the blood of oxygen. Considering oxygen and glucose are needed to produce energy, it's no mystery why smokers are often more fatigued.

Relax

Relieve insomnia-inducing stress with something that hits the spot. Experiment with different ideas such as yoga, learning the drums, tango, etc. until you find one that works for you.
